Meg was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, and she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and with High Distinction (Top 10%) from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, with dual bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Spanish.  Meg volunteered her time in college as a tutor and mentor for inner-city children in Detroit and as an intern for a United States Senator. Meg also studied in Mexico and Spain, where she immersed herself in the local cultures and customs.

Upon graduating, Meg moved to Los Angeles to attend UCLA School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor in 2001. In law school, Meg served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of International Law and Foreign Affairs, and as an extern at the district office of the United States Department of Justice.

Meg began her legal career in Los Angeles working for two nationally recognized law firms, where she handled complex civil and entertainment litigation for Fortune 500 companies. After six years in big law, Meg was recruited by a domestic adoption firm where she was one of two attorneys representing more than 100 adoptive families each year. Meg’s education, legal experience, and desire to assist families in realizing their dreams contributed to the success and growth of the firm.  Upon moving to Orange County, Meg continued her adoption practice to help clients from diverse backgrounds build their families through adoption and guardianship. After a decade in adoption law, Meg connected with a well-known freelance platform that provides her with opportunities to assist small firms with their business and civil litigation.

In addition to her legal career, Meg served as Secretary of the Academy of California Adoption-ART Lawyers (ACAL), an invitational society limited to California attorneys with adoption and assisted reproduction expertise. She also served as Legislative Liaison Co-Chair for Adoption and Assisted Reproductive Technology for the Family Law Section Executive Committee and as a member of ACAL’s Legislative Committee, where she helped draft and advocate for legislation to improve state laws involving adoption and assisted reproduction. Meg has coordinated community outreach events through her local bar association, provided pro bono legal services to adoptive families and children, among others, and volunteered with non-profit organizations to protect at-risk youth, immigrant rights, veterans, and the environment. Meg lives with her family in south Orange County.
